The Mat Lab’s Terms and Conditions

By purchasing a ticket and attending our events, you acknowledge and agree to the following terms and conditions. These terms are legally binding, and failure to comply may result in removal from the event without a refund.

1. Ticket Purchase and Refund Policy

1.1 All ticket sales are final. Tickets are non-refundable under any circumstances, including but not limited to illness, personal emergencies, or scheduling conflicts.

1.2 Tickets are transferable only to another public event hosted by The Mat Lab. Requests for transfers must be submitted in writing to [insert email] no later than 48 hours before the event. Failure to meet this deadline will result in forfeiture of the ticket.

2. Event Participation and Conduct

2.1 Attendees are expected to behave respectfully and professionally toward others. Harassment, discrimination, or disruptive behavior will not be tolerated and may result in immediate removal from the event without a refund.

2.2 The Mat Lab reserves the right to deny entry or remove any attendee who is intoxicated, disruptive, or in violation of event policies.

3. Liability and Indemnity

3.1 By attending this event, attendees agree to participate at their own risk. The Mat Lab, its employees, contractors, and the venue shall not be held liable for:

• Personal injury or illness sustained during the event.

• Loss, theft, or damage to personal belongings.

• Any incidental or consequential damages related to participation.

3.2 Attendees agree to indemnify and hold harmless The Mat Lab, its employees, contractors, and the venue from any claims, damages, or liabilities arising from their participation in the event.

Alcohol Policy:

Attendees must be 21 years or older to bring beer, wine, or liquor to our events. Alcohol consumption is strictly permitted only for those who meet the legal drinking age. The Mat Lab assumes no responsibility for the consumption of alcohol by underage individuals. By attending, you confirm that you are of legal drinking age in accordance with applicable laws and regulations. The Mat Lab reserves the right to refuse entry or remove individuals who fail to comply with these rules. All attendees are expected to drink responsibly and behave in a manner that ensures a safe, enjoyable environment for all.

By attending or participating in the event, you agree to release The Mat Lab, its employees, contractors, vendors, volunteers, and affiliates from any and all liability related to alcohol consumption, accidents, injuries, or any other incidents that may result from such consumption during the event. Attendees assume full responsibility for their actions and agree to comply with all applicable laws and regulations concerning alcohol consumption.

4. Health and Safety

4.1 Attendees must not attend if they are experiencing symptoms of illness, have tested positive for a contagious disease, or have been in close contact with someone who is contagious.

4.2 In the event of unforeseen health risks or local mandates (e.g., COVID-19 restrictions), The Mat Lab reserves the right to postpone or cancel the event. Ticket holders will be eligible to transfer their ticket to a rescheduled or future event but will not receive a refund.

5. Event Changes and Cancellations

5.1 The Mat Lab reserves the right to modify the event schedule, location, or agenda due to unforeseen circumstances. Attendees will be notified promptly of any changes.

5.2 If the event is canceled entirely, attendees will have the option to transfer their ticket to a future event hosted by The Mat Lab. Refunds will not be issued under any circumstances.

6. Photography, Media, and Intellectual Property

6.1 By attending the event, you grant The Mat Lab and its affiliates permission to photograph, film, or record you and to use such media for promotional, marketing, and educational purposes without compensation.

6.2 If you do not wish to appear in photos or videos, you must notify the organizer in writing prior to the event or upon check-in.

6.3 The content and materials provided during the event, including but not limited to artwork, presentations, and handouts, are the intellectual property of The Mat Lab and cannot be reproduced, distributed, or sold without prior written consent.

7. Painting Supplies and Clothing

7.1 All painting supplies, including canvases, brushes, and paint, will be provided. Attendees are responsible for the care and use of these supplies during the event.

7.2 The Mat Lab is not responsible for damage to personal items, including clothing, caused by paint or other materials. Protective aprons will be provided, but attendees should dress accordingly.

8. Spotlight and Networking Opportunities

8.1 Business spotlight opportunities are available on a first-come, first-served basis. The Mat Lab does not guarantee spotlight availability to all attendees.

8.2 Attendees participating in the business spotlight must adhere to time limits and guidelines provided by the event organizers.

9. Children and Guests

9.1 Our events are designed for adult professionals only. Children and unregistered guests are not permitted to attend under any circumstances.

10. Force Majeure

10.1 The Mat Lab shall not be held liable for failure to perform its obligations under these Terms and Conditions if such failure is caused by events beyond its reasonable control, including but not limited to natural disasters, government restrictions, pandemics, labor strikes, or other force majeure events.

11. Governing Law

11.1 These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of the state of South Carolina. Any disputes arising from this agreement shall be resolved exclusively in the courts of Greenville County, South Carolina.
